Dead Cells is a captivating 2D metroidvania, rogue-lite action game. Players explore a vast castle, battling their way through its guardians in intense, unforgiving combat. There are no checkpoints; it’s a cycle of kill, die, repeat.
The game casts players as a mysterious cell inhabiting the body of a recently executed prisoner. The goal is to escape the prison, battling hordes of enemies and ultimately confronting The King, the architect of this mysterious world.
Players have only one life. Death means restarting from the beginning, losing all equipment and items. Defeating enemies yields cells, used to upgrade the character’s abilities, making subsequent playthroughs easier.
The primary objective is to defeat monsters and find the exit to proceed through levels. Hidden objectives, such as defeating mini-bosses or finding hidden treasures, offer additional cells and valuable equipment.
Despite its 2D pixel art style, Dead Cells boasts impressive visuals. Clever shadowing and color palettes create a harmonious atmosphere. Detailed elements are well-arranged, preventing visual clutter.
The game’s haunting soundtrack and sound effects enhance the gameplay experience. The atmospheric music and dynamic sound design during boss fights and level progression significantly contribute to the game’s engaging and immersive nature.

This version runs smoothly on macOS 12 and should work on earlier versions. It’s a full version including all the latest DLCs: The Bad Seed, Fatal Falls, and The Queen and the Sea.
Installation Instructions:

Install the DLCs from the “Extra” folder.
Run the game from the installation directory (by default, this is Documents > Dead Cells).
Execute the “deadcells” file to launch the game.
